Golden Purse

I used another couple of Me and Carrie Lou stamps for this card. The first was the outline for the Purse. I embossed it with Detail Gold and then added the Victorian Mesh which I also embossed. The final addition was the Rose Corner which is also embossed and painted with Twinkling H2Os. I attached the cut out rose stamp using my sticker maker. I attached the purse image to parchment paper and then cut around it. On the inside I added a layer with the purse image on the left and stamped the Rose corner directly on the parchment paper.

It's actually 3 am in the morning and I am wide awake. It is terribly hot and humid this evening and sleep just wasn't happening so what's a girl to do.....stamp! I guess it is time to think about a short nap ao I will take some time this afternoon to do some blog visiting and get back into the swing of things. I hope to make it to loads of blogs so talk later.

Hibicus Love

This beautiful stamp is from Me and Carrie Lou and don't you just love it! I used water color paper and then cut it out. I attached it to a piece of black CS that I had run through the Butterfly Impressibility folder using my Wizard.

I used my Twinkling H2Os to paint this image. I stamped the image in Versafine Black Onxy first and after painting I cut it out with a knife. The ribbon on the bottom is from a blog candy I won from the UK.

On the inside I created a label using the black layer with the fuchsia paper.

This Inkadinkado image is perfect for writing a short note to a friend. I colored in the small items using spica pens.

I added this flower to the inside as well. It is also painted with Twinks. I cut off the bottom leaves so it was only the blossom showing.

I am pleased with this card. It is ages since I have posted ... I have had health problems of late and need to have some hospital work done so the postings maybe irregular again. I missed blogging but just didn't seem to be able to get to it. I think my mojo is back so hopefully I will be posting a lot again.

What a Find!!!

What a find my DH found....he gave me 20 yes that is TWENTY music boxes that I can add some artwork to! He was so excited that he phoned to make sure I could use them. I am showing the oval shape today and I'll show the larger wooden style tomorrow.
This is the oval music box. It is 8 inches long by 5.5 inches wide and about 2.5 inches high. Not at all small. The stamp is used is from Me and Carrie Lou and it is 3.5 in. by 4.5in. stamp so you can see there is loads of space to work with.I embossed the image with Marcasite Black powder that gives such a wonderful sparkle to the design. I used Twinkling H2Os to color. This is one of my favorite stamps...it is just so detailed. For this one I left the BG untouched.

On this second version I used the same stamp but treated it with Gold Detail embossing powder and different Twinkles.

I used a lot more colors on this image and also treated the BG with Distress Inks Broken China and Frayed Burlap added using a sponge.

I collect music boxes so I'll keep one but all the rest are going to family and special friends at Christmas time. I am just so excited. Everyone expects something handmade but these will be special. I am even thinking I could make new images for them to change each year...talk about advanced planning. You will see more of these before I finish them all but I will try to sneak a card in here and there but it will be hard. I love doing something like this...cards are great but this is just plain wonderful.

Me and Carrie Lou Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card and I wanted to used my new Twinkling H2Os so this is what I created. I used the Butterfly Impressionability on the Olive Green CS and ran Archival Moonlight White across to highlight the design. I attached this layer to a Red Purple The Paper Company Metallic paper before attaching to the white card base. To create the flower section I used my long rectangle scalloped Nestibility on the water color paper. I gold embossed the Violet Border stamp and then colored with H2Os using a water color brush. I used star dust Stickles in the center. The ribbon is from Michaels and of course I used my Bow Easy.

I love the inside. I made 2 Foliage Frames embossed then used the Moonlight White again to highlight. The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado.

I used only the center section of the violet border to create the center image.I am sending this to a lady who passed away on Tuesday. I think her family will appreciate it.

I heard nothing but groans this morning ...nobody wanted to go to work...yesterday felt like Saturday and they wanted to treat today like Sunday! Another great day to be retired. Last night was a total mess. The dogs all....12 of them (I included the pups) reacted to the fireworks . I never had so many dogs that wanted to sit on my lap or howl in my life. The older dogs have never liked them but they managed to teach this to the little pups as well. The only calm dog was the Mom...she just listened and kept on feeding. The fireworks were great but 30 minutes is a long time to be howled at. Love dogs but hate fireworks.

Must go take the dogs out so have a great day and have some stamping fun.

The Next Challenge #1

I made this card for a new challenge blog The Next Level. I have a link on my sidebar. You had to have an opening and a lollipop flower on your card. Here is my take.

The flowers are The Violet Border from Me and Carrie Lou Stamps and the center stamp is Spring Song from SU. I colored both using Twinkling H2Os. Great news....Luminarte has decided to remain open. They are honoring the 40% off for a few more days so head over there now.

I created the aperture using my label 1 nestibility. I cut the smaller one out and then embossed the next size up as well. Love the frame it makes. I embossed all the images with Gold Detail Embossing Powder and then painted. I also edged every side with gold embossing powder.

The right flap holds the SU image. I painted Gold around the edges. The butterflies are embossed using the Dazzle Versamark pad and burnishing all the watermarked images with a cloth. When you turn it slightly there is a slight dazzle to the watermark.
To cover the inside of the aperture I add another small sheet and included this Stampedous sentiment stamp. Above the opening you see my lollipop flower and more of the burnished Dazzle watermarked butterflies.

This is the center panel where I will be leaving a note. This is the card for my son's girlfriend who is a sweetie. She loves flowers so hopefully this card will appeal to her. I used Antique Linen distress ink on the distressed edges.

This has been a long post so I will sign off now. We are having an open house barbecue for my son's graduation this Sunday so of course the entire house must be cleaned....something I so hate doing but....guess I had better start.

Summer Time Frame

I am so pleased with this great wall hanging. I used 6 of the Victorian Fan stamp from Me and Carrie Lou to make this completed fan. I attached 6 together with Foam dimensionals and then kept them together with a brad and ribbons were added for the final touch.

I embossed the fan with gold detail and then painted with Twinkling H2Os. I wanted to keep it soft and girlie so I used mainly the lighter colors.

This fan is made on Cansons' Watercolor paper and is quite firm. I only added a back cover to hide the areas where the color had some through.

I used a blue crystal brad with a decor washer to hold all the fan sections together. The ribbons were added on the back and I used some of the small roses Prima has on the ribbons.

Me and Carrie Lou Roses

Hi everybody. I am so pleased. Susan from Me and Carrie Lou stamps asked if they could use some of my work for display purposes on their blog. I feel so great...imagine someone wanting to show off my take on their stamps! I am so pleased. Today I made a card suitable for just about anything. I used the 3 Me and Carrie Lou stamps and 1 Magenta rose stamp for this card.

I embossed all these images on watercolor paper using Gold Detail powder. The stamps make a wonderful impression that embosses perfectly. After embossing I used Twinkling H2Os to paint.

I embossed, painted and then cut out the Rose before attaching it onto the Victorian Background Image. I cut out the BG image and attached it to Pale Pink paper from DCWV. I ran my versamark pad around the edges of the pink paper and embossed with gold detail powder and then attached to the base cardstock.

On the inside I attached another rectangle of the Pale Pink paper and a section of the Romantic Border image on the bottom of the page and the flowers from the Hummingbirds stamp on the left side.

I really recommend you check out these Carrie Lou stamps. As you can see they are versatile...you can cut out sections of an image and they work well with other images. Go on, check them out.

On the homefront we are busy getting set up for Graduation. Its only 3 weeks until the party and all the house and yard have to be cleaned up after the winter. My DH mowed the yard for the first time last night and that's when I know Summer is coming. That and the fact that Spring allergies have hit the house...there is more sneezing going on then breathing sometimes. The boys only have slight allergies so once they get in the groove of Summer the sneezing will stop.

Me and Carrie Lou Birthday

Just a quick post to show a BD card I made. I used the remainder of the papers from yesterday's post and the same stamp set...I was on a roll.

I used those wonderful Twinkling H2Os and gold embossing detail powder. I put dimensional foam under the birds and flowers to make it 3D like.

I wanted the inside to be just as beautiful so I used the violet banner from Me and Carrie Lou on the inside. Since it was going on white, I didn't have to cut quite so finely as I did for the front.

I really enjoy detailed work and love using my Twinks. My Mom loved her gift from yesterday and has it placed on the fireplace mantle so all can see it....this is what makes this craft so much fun. Off to pick up the oldest from work...talk later.

Happy Mother,s Day Projects

I decorated this candy dish for my Mom for Mother's Day. I filled it with her favorite candies and it was a huge hit. I got the dish at an auction and I colored the images with Twinkling H2Os on water color paper.

After cutting each image out with a craft knife (this took the longest time) I used Modge Podge to connect it to the dish.

I ran 1/4 inch ribbon through the holes of the dish to decorate and make that home-made appearance stronger. I put this Inkadinkado bird silhouette on two sides and the Me and Carrie Lou images on the other two sizes.

I was asked to make this next project using a shadow frame and this Lavender Flower Fairy Stamps Happen image. I colored the frame mats using a bayer with lavender lace and bashful blue SU ink.

I colored this image with Twinkling H2Os after embossing it with Gold Detail Powder on watercolor paper.

I am very pleased with both of these projects and hope the receivers enjoy them as much as I do. I hope each and every Mother had a fantastic day. One of my sons gave me the MM spinning carousel and the the other gave me beautiful panzies for one of my planters. I had a wonderful day and think Mother's Day should happen more often.

Hummingbird Thanks

I used my wonderful Me and Carrie Lou stamps to make this Thank You framed art. I gold embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os. I cut out the images with my cutting knife and then attached to either the mat or the BG gold paper.

I love the mix of colors. Twinks are so fantastic for colors...they are true colors which simple twinkle or shimmer. I used my Kuretake water brush to pick up the paint so it can be put on very intense or quite faint.

I am giving this to a friend who comes visit from the other end of Canada and always brings me something to use in crafts. She loves scrapbooking and when we get together we scrap and talk. She is actually the Aunt of my BFF but she feels more like the sister I don't have. She is coming this week for a visit so I wanted to finish this and give it to her. I know she will cherish it which makes it all the more enjoyable to give to her.

Time to go and surf around to some blogs so talk later.

91st Birthday Gift

I made this framed art for my Mom's 91st Birthday. She loves hummingbirds and green yellow so I combined the two and got this. I used Me and Carrie Lou stamps which I gold embossed. I used my Kuretake waterbrush and Twinkling H2Os. I have always used a paintbrush and misters to paint with before but I am very pleased with the effect achieved using the waterbrush.

I used two copies of the violet border which I cut out with cutting blade and attached to the mat.

I used Golden Rod stickles for the center of the flowers . It just finishes off the sparkle. To do this project I used the following Twinks:

flowers: Garnet

leaves: Key Lime, Sweet Alfalfa

swirls: Bolivian Blue

hummingbird: Bolivian Blue, Jasper Red, Kiwi, Mystic Blue, Evening Primrose and Sapphire on Ice.

I am really pleased with this project. The photos don't due it justice....it twinkles and shimmers and looks very elegant. I know my Mom will love it. The weather is rainy and gloomy but that is melting the ice and that makes me sooooooo happy. Not the greatest weather for my back but hey I am so glad it isn't snow that no pain is too great.

I plan on getting back to challenges tomorrow so don't give up on me. Off to get my eyes tested so talk later.

Fan Card and Mesh Galore

Just call me stupid...I thought I had posted this early this am and guess what....I didn't! So be prepared for oodles of cards. This really should be two posts but I am putting it all together.

Card #1 Me and Carrie Victorian Fan Petal card. This makes a long card...7.5 inches by 3.5. I embossed it with detail gold and painted it with Twinkling H2Os: Fuzzy Peach, Blush Pink Nutmeg, Sweet Alfalfa, Kiwi and Golden Sand. I layered it on Pearl Pink from the Paper Company. The ribbon is from Michaels .
On the inside I used the largest of the scalloped long rectangle nestibility and used Tattered Rose Distress Ink on the edges. The pearl pink paper extends beyond the edge and allows the Doily edge to show (MS punch).

Card #2 Me and Carrie Lou Victorian Background and Violet Border.

I embossed with gold detail powder on both images. The border image was cut out and attached using the Xyron sticker machine. I cut the image out using both scissors and a craft knife. I also cut out the background stamp and attached it to the white layer. I embossed the edges on both of the next two layers. The Twinks used were Sweet Alfalfa, Razzleberry, Wisteria,Ginger Peach, Apple Blossom.
I used the curvy rectangle nestibility was cut out and embossed and the center section of the violet border was added.

Card #3 was done the same as #2 with the addition of the wedding stamp from Outlines Rubber. These are the Twinks used: Dutch Irish, Stargazer, Fresh Oregano, Sweet Alfalfa and Ginger Peach.

I am really enjoying the Me and Carrie Lou stamps. They are beautiful, give perfect images and are affordable. I love the way they emboss and using the Twinkling H2Os makes them beautiful.
