Friday Sketches Anniversary

This week Friday Sketches is celebrating its first anniversary and this is my take on their sketch challenge.
All my papers are from DCWV Old World Stack and they are so delicious. They have a lovely texture and great patterns. I just got my Mother's Day gift yesterday....Spellbinders Raspberry Wizard. I have had such fun with this new toy. I also got the label 4 and label 3 nestibilities. I used label 4 on this card and I love that die. I watercolored the image with Twinkling H2Os and used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink on the edges.
To create the flower design on the top I used 2 Primas and stickles. I used a half pearl in the center and strings of pearls create the design.

More Primas and stickles with pearls.
I hope you all have a great weekend and take some time to participate in Friday Sketches.

Cute Card Thursday Post Pals

This week the challenge at Cute Cards Thursday is to make Happy Mail. They included the idea of making cards for PostPals. I decided to make 2 cards and send them off.
So I used this Magnolia and used the circle scalloped nestibilities. I colored her in Prismacolored Markers. I love the cute bow I made. I attached it with Zots mini dots. The papers are My Mind's Eye and I think are so happy.

On the inside I used label 1 nestibilities.

For my second card I used this Stampandous Peanuts stamp. I colored it with markers and cut it out with my curvy rectangle nestibility. The ribbon is running through a die cut from cuttlebug and the Puppy love sentiment is from Cloud Nine. Again the papers are from My Mind's Eye and the ribbon is from Michaels...Creative Satin.

On the inside I used another Cloud Nine stamp as well as this Inkadinkado stamp. I colored in the sentiment image with spica pens.
Go check out this site through Cute Card Thursday...it will make you feel better. Such a rainy and cold day here so this warms me up a bit. Not much other news so talk later.

Restful Fairy

I had this wonderful fairy stamp given to me yesterday. The only stamp label on it is the name of the store which is The Artful Stamper, London Canada. I inked it up with versafine onxy black and colored it with markers and spica pens. I cut out the image and layered it on baby blue paper from Michaels attaching it with foam tape. I used the label 1 nestibility for both layers. The DP is from DCWV. The flowers are Primas and the ribbon is from Michaels.
I wrapped the ribbon around to the inside and used a piece of DP to cover the brad.

This comment stamp is an Inkadinkado stamp which is perfect for a short note. I seem to have lost my mojo so it is a very simple card. It is so cold today that I have the fireplace on. Here
I was thinking it was Spring...HaHa!
Must decide what to throw together for supper. I would be happy with PB&J but my DH hates peanut butter. Talk later.

Hummingbird Thanks

I used my wonderful Me and Carrie Lou stamps to make this Thank You framed art. I gold embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os. I cut out the images with my cutting knife and then attached to either the mat or the BG gold paper.
I love the mix of colors. Twinks are so fantastic for colors...they are true colors which simple twinkle or shimmer. I used my Kuretake water brush to pick up the paint so it can be put on very intense or quite faint.
I am giving this to a friend who comes visit from the other end of Canada and always brings me something to use in crafts. She loves scrapbooking and when we get together we scrap and talk. She is actually the Aunt of my BFF but she feels more like the sister I don't have. She is coming this week for a visit so I wanted to finish this and give it to her. I know she will cherish it which makes it all the more enjoyable to give to her.
Time to go and surf around to some blogs so talk later.

Graduation Party Invites

I just finished making 50 invitations to my son's grad party. I love doing things like this but I despise doing the same thing over and over again. By the time I finished I had it down to a fine science but it does not allow for much creative work. Both stamps are embossed in Disco Black which gives major sparkle. I used my Prismacolored Marker to fill in the stamps. The diplomas are colored with a white gel pen.

I certainly got use of the curvy rectangle nestibility. I used 4 sizes on each invite. Black and gold are the grad colors so again I used these strong colors. I needed something striking to show up so I used DS's favorite color orange....good thing it matched! I love the diploma hat brads I found. I ordered them ages ago from http://www.www.scrapbookingcafeonline.ca/index.html. They are a great price...10 for $1.

The party info is on the inside. I used the computer to create the message and used the smaller curvy rectangles to cut it out. I am very pleased with these and my son thinks they fine...17 year old males are not big on party invites. Now all I have to do is clean the house, make some decorations and figure out the food. Lots of time for that. I should be able to procrastinate that until just before the party. No need to be too prepared!!!
Got to go get one of the boys so I will be back with another post later.

Timeless Tuesdays Grads

Both of these cards are made using the sketch from Timeless Tuesday. I used two different cuttlebug dies to create the 4 corner square. The congrats is also a die cut from cuttlebug that includes the diploma and the hat. I used both the male and female grad digi print from The Greeting Farm.
I used the same ribbon on both cards I just reversed it on the boy card...what a trick eh! I used the 2nd smallest of the circles nestibilities to cut the circle and scalloped BG for the image which I attached with dimensionals.

I used two stamps on the inside. The frame is All Night Media and the sentiment is from Stampendous. I did it on the golden yellow paper and meant to put it on black before attaching but I forgot until it was too late. Next time I think it would add a certain punch.
I am having problems with my blogger on editing and if anyone knows what I have done please help. I can no longer edit on my layout page... no editing at all . It just peeps at me and I am about ready to shove that peep back inside the computer. I am so feed up with it I could scream.
On a better note, the weather is great today...so maybe the computer will live to see another day.

Blog Candy at Marcea's

This wonderful candy is up for comments on http://marceascraftingcorner.blogspot.com/ . I have been trying to put it on my side bar with the other candies but for some reason my layout will not let me edit. All it does is peep and then tell me pop up window not allowed. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know...it is driving me crazy.

Go check this blog out. It is a wonderful blog with great candy.
