Golden Purse

I used another couple of Me and Carrie Lou stamps for this card. The first was the outline for the Purse. I embossed it with Detail Gold and then added the Victorian Mesh which I also embossed. The final addition was the Rose Corner which is also embossed and painted with Twinkling H2Os. I attached the cut out rose stamp using my sticker maker. I attached the purse image to parchment paper and then cut around it. On the inside I added a layer with the purse image on the left and stamped the Rose corner directly on the parchment paper.

It's actually 3 am in the morning and I am wide awake. It is terribly hot and humid this evening and sleep just wasn't happening so what's a girl to do.....stamp! I guess it is time to think about a short nap ao I will take some time this afternoon to do some blog visiting and get back into the swing of things. I hope to make it to loads of blogs so talk later.

Hibicus Love

This beautiful stamp is from Me and Carrie Lou and don't you just love it! I used water color paper and then cut it out. I attached it to a piece of black CS that I had run through the Butterfly Impressibility folder using my Wizard.
I used my Twinkling H2Os to paint this image. I stamped the image in Versafine Black Onxy first and after painting I cut it out with a knife. The ribbon on the bottom is from a blog candy I won from the UK.

On the inside I created a label using the black layer with the fuchsia paper.

This Inkadinkado image is perfect for writing a short note to a friend. I colored in the small items using spica pens.
I added this flower to the inside as well. It is also painted with Twinks. I cut off the bottom leaves so it was only the blossom showing.
I am pleased with this card. It is ages since I have posted ... I have had health problems of late and need to have some hospital work done so the postings maybe irregular again. I missed blogging but just didn't seem to be able to get to it. I think my mojo is back so hopefully I will be posting a lot again.
Enjoy your summer hopefully with your family.

No Stamp Beauties

The following are more music box photos...#3 and #4. These two are different from my normal work...no stamps! I put my mojo into drawing and then painting these two. I used watercolor paper that I drew on and them painted with Acrylics and Twinkling H2Os.

This first one is a Ruffled Iris. I love purple so of course this flower had to have purple hues. I outlined it with Pomegranate and used Rubilite, Mulberry and Purple Sage with Pink Crocus and Apple Blossom. The leaves used greens and grays with Hint of Cocoa.

This lighthouse scene is from my Childhood. We used to visit lighthouses and covered bridges all the time. My Dad was an oil artist who loved the bridges and lighthouses of the Maritimes of Canada.

I am pleased with these and I am having Medical Issues that need me to be focused on something so drawing is what I am working on. It is certainly a lot slower than stamping and probably not as great but hey...they are originals.

Stampscapes Music Box

As promised here is the second style of music box. This is the wooden style box that is 10 in.x 8 in. and 3 inches high. The framed section in the top holds a 4 x 6 opening for you image. For this music box I used Stampscapes images. There are actually 3 different stamps used on this scene. I used almost every method of coloring...markers, Twinkling H2Os and Prismacolored Pencils with OMS...oops I also used copics. I started using Distress inks Worn Lipstick, Black Soot and then added Stampin Up Handsome Hunter and Old Olive. All the images were stamped in Versafine Black Onxy with a touch of Sepia also from Versafine.
These next two photos show the front of the music box....gorgeous wood. The second photo shows the box in strong sunlight just so you can see the colors of the box.

I can hardly wait to give these to friends at Christmas. I made this one for my SIL and BIL who love to fish and camp out. This is just their kind of scene.
Someone is coming to see the pups in a bit so I must go tidy up the rooms. Talk later.

What a Find!!!

What a find my DH found....he gave me 20 yes that is TWENTY music boxes that I can add some artwork to! He was so excited that he phoned to make sure I could use them. I am showing the oval shape today and I'll show the larger wooden style tomorrow.
This is the oval music box. It is 8 inches long by 5.5 inches wide and about 2.5 inches high. Not at all small. The stamp is used is from Me and Carrie Lou and it is 3.5 in. by 4.5in. stamp so you can see there is loads of space to work with.I embossed the image with Marcasite Black powder that gives such a wonderful sparkle to the design. I used Twinkling H2Os to color. This is one of my favorite stamps...it is just so detailed. For this one I left the BG untouched.
On this second version I used the same stamp but treated it with Gold Detail embossing powder and different Twinkles.

I used a lot more colors on this image and also treated the BG with Distress Inks Broken China and Frayed Burlap added using a sponge.
I collect music boxes so I'll keep one but all the rest are going to family and special friends at Christmas time. I am just so excited. Everyone expects something handmade but these will be special. I am even thinking I could make new images for them to change each year...talk about advanced planning. You will see more of these before I finish them all but I will try to sneak a card in here and there but it will be hard. I love doing something like this...cards are great but this is just plain wonderful.

For My Guy IO Challenge

This is a twofer post. Impression Obsession has a challenge to make a card for a guy and at first I decided to make a card for when my husband travels and then it suddenly hit me that I had not made an anniversary card for him and tomorrow is our 24th anniversary. I don't know about the rest of you but I am always forgetting to make cards for my family until the last moment. So today I show you two cards made using the same stamp.

This first card is for my DH. I stamped the image in sepia from versafine and then colored it with Twinkling H2Os. I used 3 different colors of grey for both of the cards. This is Bazzill Textured paper. On this card I used Spellbinders Label Three in the largest size to get all the image.
I layered it on the darkest grey and cut around the edge to make the next layer. After I cut it I remember that I could have just traced the die and it would have been the correct size...slap myself silly for this one. The Happy Anniversary stamp is from the $ bin at Michaels. I embossed in detail black but colored the hearts with a red spica pen.
On the inside the romance came through with the hearts nestibilities. The small love stamp is embossed and colored with Twinks. I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo and Weathered Wood.

The second card is the slanted version. I stamped this one in black Onyx and this one was my favorite after it was colored but unfortunately I used my crooked eye and cut the image out on a very definite slant. Well, one cannot let that cause a throw out so artistic impulse took over and this slanted version was the result. I used the different brads to emphasize the slant. I didn't have a black sentiment frame so I used my marker to change the color from silver to black...it turned out great.
I really like the image stamped in black much better than the sepia color. On watercolor paper, the image comes through much clearer in black than the sepia especially for detailed images.

Now I have to go get supper ready...only DH and myself tonight...everyone else is busy. So again I hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend and spending time with family and friends.

Whiff of Joy DT Call

This is the sketch for the DT call at Whiff of Joy. It is such a different sketch...the edge is wonderful to work with. I used this Sitting Willow image and used Twinkling H2Os to paint her. The paper I used is Whisper White (SU) and Light Blue (The Paper Company) and Teal (The Paper Company). The DP is from the Glitter slab from DCWV.
Both the strawberries , the sentiment and Willow are from the Summer stamp set. I found a doily the correct size and ran the Baja Breese ink pad across the top to show the design. I attached Willow and one strawberry with tape. I used my Medium Marvy Daisy punch and attached the strawberries to the flower base. The berries are colored in Garnet and I used a red spica pen on the dimples. The ribbon is Traditional Satin from Michaels.

To match the sentiment I decides to use Hearts on the inside. The Teal hearts were cut out of the teal paper after I had used the Paisley Impossibilities from Spellbinders. Both the hearts dies and the impressibility were run through my Wizard I ran the white ink pad across the hearts that were made of the impressabilited paper to show the design. On the edge of the base on the rieght I used the doily punch from Martha Stewart to add some decoration to the edge.
We are in the middle of a storm so I want to post this before I lose the power to do this.

Me and Carrie Lou Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card and I wanted to used my new Twinkling H2Os so this is what I created. I used the Butterfly Impressionability on the Olive Green CS and ran Archival Moonlight White across to highlight the design. I attached this layer to a Red Purple The Paper Company Metallic paper before attaching to the white card base. To create the flower section I used my long rectangle scalloped Nestibility on the water color paper. I gold embossed the Violet Border stamp and then colored with H2Os using a water color brush. I used star dust Stickles in the center. The ribbon is from Michaels and of course I used my Bow Easy.
I love the inside. I made 2 Foliage Frames embossed then used the Moonlight White again to highlight. The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado.

I used only the center section of the violet border to create the center image.I am sending this to a lady who passed away on Tuesday. I think her family will appreciate it.
I heard nothing but groans this morning ...nobody wanted to go to work...yesterday felt like Saturday and they wanted to treat today like Sunday! Another great day to be retired. Last night was a total mess. The dogs all....12 of them (I included the pups) reacted to the fireworks . I never had so many dogs that wanted to sit on my lap or howl in my life. The older dogs have never liked them but they managed to teach this to the little pups as well. The only calm dog was the Mom...she just listened and kept on feeding. The fireworks were great but 30 minutes is a long time to be howled at. Love dogs but hate fireworks.
Must go take the dogs out so have a great day and have some stamping fun.

Puppies Arrival

This is Dakota...the Happiest Mom out there. She delivered 7 healthy Golden Retriever pups on Friday pm. Since delivering them she just dotes on them...only leaving them on 10 minute breaks a few times each day.
All the pups are healthy and Dakota certainly keeps them clean.
This photo shows the first full feeding time.

This little guy is only 1 day old and loves to sleep on his Mom's paw. After feeding he slowly makes his way to a paw and sleeps. Right now pups are not terribly cute since their eyes are still closed.
This is Dakota's first litter and she is showing great maternal ability...loves her pups, feeds them almost constantly and is so happy to have people oohing and aweing over them. No time for cards today but hopefully really soon.
Hugs from the Kennel....with these pups we have 12 dogs/pups in our home!

Sugar Bowl Cutie

The challenge this week on Sugar Bowl Challenges is a sketch. I followed the sketch and this is the card I created. You also had to use Kraft paper which I love. This is a really great sketch. I used an older Sarah Kay stamp and colored her with markers.
I mixed the Prima Hydrangea with the roses to create the corner flower and I must say, I do love those little roses. I almost hate to use them....I am trying to resist hording them but it is difficult.

On the inside I used my new spellbinder classic lace border. It is 12 inches long and I only have the regular white boards for my wizard but since I only wanted a short piece it worked. It is a really gorgeous die.
The paper I used was Basic Grey and Creative Memories. Both are lovely to work with. The Kraft is from SU and the Pink is from the Paper Company. Quite a collection eh! Well my youngest Golden Retriever is making all the moves of delivery. It will be happening sometime between today and Sunday. I hate waiting...she has been pacing and nesting and making all the moves. I really don't know how to help her but hopefully it will happen soon. I'll post the babes as soon as I can.

Whiff of Joy Sketch

I followed the Whiff of Joy challenge sketch today to make this card. Since I was a girl I have always been attracted to the blue green combination. I always feel good to see it so you know I love this paper. It is from the Paper Company and I have used 3 different DP and then Navy Blue for the base of the card.

I colored Willow with markers and used Spica pens to highlight and add some glitter to the card. I used Label 4 nestibility to cut out the image layer and then used the outside rim and my knife to create the blue label. The flowers are from Prima and the brads are from Making Memories. I used the word window punch from SU to make the tabs and the ribbon is also from SU

I used the same papers on the inside but this time I used a smaller nestibility in white so used the largest of the Label 4 to cut out the blue label.
I hope you are all doing great. The house is so quiet...the boys are all at work and our hyper Golden Retriever has only a few days before she delivers so she is even quiet. She usually wants to play but today she just wants to sleep next to me. Must go make her a little snack.
Have a great one,
Hugs

Stamp with Fun

It seems like ages since I have stamped. Since the graduation activities are finally over, I have been scrapbooking all the grad. activities. I started with scrapbooking and I do enjoy it. But today I wanted to stamp so I followed Bea's sketch on Stamp with Fun. I am also doing this card for the Roses on Paper challenge which calls for doing another challenge and simply adding flowers for the Roses on Paper challenge.

I used this sitting Magnolia and made a little change on the image. This Tilda comes with a tart on the front of the shirt which I simply did not ink and then put this little pearl bow. Both this bow and paper are from a blog candy I won. The paper is Kate Knight from Dovecraft. It was lovely to work with.

I used markers to color the image and attached her to the top layer with foam tape.

I used my Marvy punches to make the flowers. The photo does not show the glossy of the white flowers. I actually used photo paper. The colored center are colored with the markers to match the image. The center brads are from SU.

The inside shows more of the paper from Kate Knight. I added a sentiment section using the label 4 nestibility.
It was fun to stamp again. I still have to finish the graduation scrapbook so it may be a bit spacier between cards. Talk soon.

Just Magnolia Altered Tin

As promised a couple of photos of my graduating son and his girlfriend at their prom. I noticed I put in the uncropped version but isn't set up great. His girlfriend set up this swing for the photos. To night is the exercises and then life will go into Summer mode.

The challenge at Just Magnolia is to alerter a box, bag or can. This is a can that used to hold Prima flowers. I am using it as a gift box holding a grad gift for one of the girls.

I love this stamp of Tilda picking flowers. The butterfly was included in another stamp I order from Pheobe at the Town Scrapper...my source for Magnolias. I colored Tilda with my Prismacolored pencils, I did use the light peach marker for the flesh though. I embellished the flowers with stickles and used the butterflies and half pearls on the top edge.

I embellished the outside bottom with DP and them added ribbon with silver edges. I added doves made with the MS bird punch. I made the bow with my bow easy.

This last photo show the layering of the flowers. I love the colors and the stacking of the Prima flowers.
This is the first tin I have ever altered and I am really pleased with it. Now to find more tins. Off to the Graduation Exercises. Talk later.
