New Thomas Kincade and a Surprise!

My Husband brought me home this wonderful Thomas Kincade stamp. It was just released and I am so impressed that he found it. I stamped it first in black ink but found it too hard to cover the shading so this one was stamped in Vintage Photo Distress ink. It was much harder to see all the details but much better to paint. I think the next time I will use the Sepia color of versafine ink, it should give better details. Of all the TK images I have, this one has the most detailed shading. The small flowers were done with Jasper Red. I don`t know if you appreciate knowing the colors so let me know.

The DP was Bohemia from My Mind`s Eye. I layered the image with Hunter Green and So Saffron and Old Olive papers. The bow at the top was Classic Traditions from Michaels. I was trying to make a card suitable for a male but I don`t think I quite achieved it. I used 3 small Easter egg brads on the bottom right side to make the card Easter.
I used both Twinkling H2Os and Prismacolored Markers to color this image. The roses were done with Lemondrop and Ginger Peach and White Innessential pen. I say this often but shading with watercolor paint is easy to do...more water gives a lighter tint of the color. The leaves are done with Sweet Alfalfa and Kiwi. The BG leaves were done with Light and Dark Olive Green markers. The bricks were done with Jasper Red and Nutmeg with the cement done in French Grey Marker. The trees were done with markers same as the leaves. The faint trees on the top left was done with Fresh Oregano and the sky is done with Bolivian Blue.

The inside was done with more of the DP . The strip on the left side covers the brads. I only thought of them after I had put the card together so they showed on the inside.

Somebody messed up here today. Its supposed to be Spring and school got cancelled because of a snow storm! What a mess it is here today. Another 20 cm of the rotten stuff. We have at least least 3 feet of snow left on our yard...no sight of land any place...just snow. The only good thing I can say about the snow today is it is covering the muddy snow out there. Guess there is not much I can do about it. Thanks for letting me rage...not that you really could stop me, but for those who read this whole entry thanks for listening.
How about that Surprise. Tell me what is your favorite form of coloring and I might draw your comment for this cutie.
To acknowledge that Winter does not want to leave, I have this Tilda with Bell for some blog candy. Leave me a comment about coloring and I will draw on winner on April 1. No this will not be an April Fools joke, I will send this Tilda out to someone. Good luck to all.

WOJ stamp and Blog Candy Game

Today I made this card for my great niece Emily, the twin sister of the girl in the hospital. She is missing her sister so much that she deserves a little show of love as well. I used the Teen Lizzy stamp from Whiff of Joy. It seemed like a great card to show love for a pre-teen.
I used my Prismacolored Markers on this gold embossed image. My main colors were Deco Pink, Magenta, Pink, Periwinkle, Navy and light Cerulean Blue. I used the silver spica pen to do the fur on the boots. I used French Grey 20% to create the shadow effect on the outline of the image. The beautiful textured paper is from the Metallic stack from DCWV. It is so great....subtle glow and the texture is so evident.
I attached the prima flowers using 3 different brads. I love the heart shape one. I used the curved mega rectangle nestibility to create the backgrounds.

The inside of the card shows where I punched two holes in the very center for the ribbon to go through. This is how I attached the inner card made from DP from Provo Craft. I also used the top half of the WOJ stamp and used the mirror image stamp so the image is facing the opposite direction. This works really well with these stamps. The curved layer is also from the Provo Craft.
Michelle from http://inspirationblooms.blogspot.com/ has a wonderful game going on. The first 5 people who leave a comment on her entry will receive a gift handmade by her. I am going to do the same thing. I will not guarantee anything too fancy but I will send out a small handmade gift to the first 5 commenters.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year. (I will want to get it done ASAP so it should be within a month or so!)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. I have tons of ideas, but who knows what it will be? Not you, that's for sure!
5-The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog!

Now, doesn`t that sound like fun! Remember to send me a photo of what you give away. I`ll show anything I win, if I do. Go on now....get this done!

Congrats Mina. Please send me your email so I can get your prize.

I really am not doing great today. I should have known better, but my DH was stuck in the driveway and only 2 boys were home and I thought I could drive and they could push. Good idea but I am disabled and use a cane or walker and the ice and snow won and I managed to land on the downside twice and I am now feeling stupid and sore. I will live to fall again but today is just not a great day. I will have a card for tomorrow so talk later. I have a crowd for Pizza tonight for my son`s 20th birthday. Talk later.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments.

Cards for Students

While surfing today I found this great entry: http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/01/08/new-year-new-look-and-lots-of-blog-tart-goodness-for-you/ Its all about helping University students. The rules are there but basically you make a card that can be given to a student for Birthdays etc. I remember how important mail was eons ago when I was in university so I made this card.
Jen is giving away a fabulous blog candy...its huge. Lots of support from companies and friends.
I had colored the image a few days ago and finally put it together today. I followed the color choice for the Whiff of Joy Challenge Purple and Green. All the papers are from Provo Craft and the butterfly is the Martha Stewart punch.
I used Primacolored Markers to color and I am just starting to get some understanding of how they work. I still like my pencils the most but I am using the markers.

We were asked to keep the inside blank so all I added was a purple frame and of course, a butterfly.
Its late and I am exhausted soooo talk tomorrow

Office Gifts and Mega Blog Candy Alert

So today ends the time when I think I am going to kill my DH. Again this year, I had to panic and make 24 of these snowman pictures for my DH`s staff. I was told since Sept. that he had their gift looked after...something he bought after Christmas last year so I didn`t prepare anything. But when all the gifts were found and we started to wrap gifts....there were not enough so....off to the stamping table I went.

Honestly, I enjoy making gifts for his staff because they are always so appreciative of them but the week before Christmas is just too close for comfort.

So what did I make...this.I used my favorite shadow box frame from the $ store. It comes with 2 mats that I used the bayer to cover. This time I used Rose Red ink and left quite a bit of white showing. For the image I used Wishing You Cheer from SU. I masked the snowman and the tree to put in the background snowman. I painted using Spica Pens and highlighted the snow with diamond dust the image really sparkles.

It was really hard to produce a photo that shows true colors and the sparkle but trust me it is very cute. I framed the image in scraps of red and black papers and put it on either silver or gold shimmer paper from The Paper Company. When I looked at the first photo it looks like the BG paper goes from silver to gold but it is actually silver. The magic of the camera strikes again.

So, I finished them last night and wrapped them all for him to give away tonight at their staff party....the one I can`t even go to. Imagine!

Well it is the last day of school for the boys and then Christmas break starts. My Oldest son works but he also managed to get his vacation over Christmas. I looked forward to spending time with them but I think they have plans to spend time with friends...sure hope they can fit me in for some quality time!

Almost forgot to say Get Yourself over to this blog for some Mega Blog Candy.
http://charmedcrafts.blogspot.com/2008/12/mega-mega-mega-christmas-blog-candy.html
Trust me it is fantastic. Good Luck to all.

Off to wake the crowd up for another day. Talk later.
Happy Holidays to all.
