The Next Challenge #1

I made this card for a new challenge blog The Next Level. I have a link on my sidebar. You had to have an opening and a lollipop flower on your card. Here is my take.

The flowers are The Violet Border from Me and Carrie Lou Stamps and the center stamp is Spring Song from SU. I colored both using Twinkling H2Os. Great news....Luminarte has decided to remain open. They are honoring the 40% off for a few more days so head over there now.
I created the aperture using my label 1 nestibility. I cut the smaller one out and then embossed the next size up as well. Love the frame it makes. I embossed all the images with Gold Detail Embossing Powder and then painted. I also edged every side with gold embossing powder.
The right flap holds the SU image. I painted Gold around the edges. The butterflies are embossed using the Dazzle Versamark pad and burnishing all the watermarked images with a cloth. When you turn it slightly there is a slight dazzle to the watermark.
To cover the inside of the aperture I add another small sheet and included this Stampedous sentiment stamp. Above the opening you see my lollipop flower and more of the burnished Dazzle watermarked butterflies.

This is the center panel where I will be leaving a note. This is the card for my son's girlfriend who is a sweetie. She loves flowers so hopefully this card will appeal to her. I used Antique Linen distress ink on the distressed edges.

This has been a long post so I will sign off now. We are having an open house barbecue for my son's graduation this Sunday so of course the entire house must be cleaned....something I so hate doing but....guess I had better start.

Butterfly Male Easter Duo

These are the last 2 cards for my DH office staff...yeah! After a while Easter cards become a bit boring. I have no repeats except for these last 2 that are similar. I wanted 2 male cards that were very manly so no pastels or bunnies. I used Kiwi Kiss and a dark blue as my colors. Instead of pink I used an orange tone. So lots of photos to follow. I used my Prismacolored Markers to color and versfine onyx black ink.

The first card is tall 9 inches by 4 inches and fits into a business card. I cased a card from Michelle Zindorff for this one. I changed the stamps but the style is all hers.

The butterflies are from a kit I got at Kent`s Home Depot and has no markings so I don't know who made it. The sentiment holder is from SU Hodgepodge kit. BG stamp is from SU Stitched Exotics.
Love the screw brads $ store and butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.
The second card is my normal card size 5 inches by 7inches.BG stamp is from Broque Motifs SU. Brads from $store and sentiment is on small and large oval punches from SU. The sentiment on the inside is done with the Harmony Stamper from JustRite.

Martha Stewart punch was used on the top. I love the way this punch embosses along the edge.

I have been absent a lot this week dealing with the sick of the male species. One has the mumps and my DH is following all the steps to this but no swelling yet. I hate to complain but men are absolutely the worst sick people. They take it all to a new level. Mine both wont to do it without medicine because that would mean they were weak....instead they like to sigh their way through an illness. If you hear screams world wide they sighed one too many times. I am thinking of hiding the medicine in a bowl of soup which seems to be the main meal this week.

OK I now feel better. Thanks for listening....even if you jumped over this last section...I do feel better.
Don't forget to sign up for the blog candy Here
Everybody is still sleeping so I may get another card done. Have a wonderful weekend.

Cute Card Thursday Animals

The challenge this week was to use animals on the card. So here is the peek of card #1 and.......

here is the card. I had so much fun preparing this card. This is my New Sarah Kay stamp from Stampavie. This is my first Stampavie stamp and I am really impressed with them. It makes a great image.
I colored this image using my Prismacolored Markers, Pencils and of course my Inkessential White pen. I used my curved rectangle nestibility and ribbon I purchased at Michaels. The DP is from DCWV Pocket Full of Posies stack.
I love this sentiment stamp from Inkadinkado. I have used it so much...definitely a favorite.
For my second card I used all SU stamps from the Feathered Hope stamp set which I have borrowed and now must return to my SU demo. It is such a wonderful stamp set.
Love this stamp...really looks like Spring even though its snowing outside...yuck.

Again I used my markers and pencils to do this coloring. I love the way the markers and pencils work so well together. I used mini pearls from Michaels on the body of the butterfly on both cards. It adds such a nice touch.
the inside sentiment is from the SU set and is just perfect for this card.
I had such fun coloring and making these animal cards. I hope you all have a fantastic day. Talk later.

Happy Birthday 17

Just a quick show of the card I made for middle son who turned 17 yesterday. I find it really hard to make cards for my sons....they are either too young in style or more suitable to acquaintances than family. I said this saying : a little birdie told me its your birthday , to him in the morning so this is the card I came up with...17 little birdies. The stamp is from Feathered Hope (SU) which I borrowed from my SU Demo and love it. I did the base of the card on a the remaining paper from Oh Holy Night post. The birds of course, are colored with Prismacolored pencils.
Another post to follow today. I am so excited,,,I have a car today. I have a Dr. appointment so DH had to carpool. I plan on a stop at Micheals to use my coupon for something...not sure what but I am sure I will see something with my name on it.
Talk later.
