Card Request

This post is a reminder of what each and everyone of us can do to be a better person by making a little dent into the woes of others. I would like you to go to this site http://stampamaniac.blogspot.com/2009/03/time-for-everythinglong-personal-post.html?showComment=1236101460000#c7477146379155922289. When you read Donna`s entry about Ylita, you will understand why I am asking for you to send a card out to someone who needs a little lift. I am including the address for your convenience.

I made this card for the Nielsen family this afternoon. I wanted something somewhat Spring in appearance but also tender.

The Celtic Cross is from Rubber Stampede. I used Versamark and gold detail embossing powder to create the image. I used Whisper White paper from SU and cut it out with the rectangle nestibility. The scalloped rectangle was used to create the outside trim using Provo Craft paper. The beautiful DP is from Elizabeth Griffiths. I used the Swiss Dotted embossing folder with the purple paper. The base of the card is Bazzill in a sage color. The ribbon is from Michaels and the champagne pearl is from the Pretties Kit from SU. The pearl is glued onto a small circle to emphasize it.

I used scarps from the DP to decorate the inside. I used the 2 largest circle nestibilities to make the sentiment layer. The stamp is from Inkadinkado. I love the positive message it gives.

The sentiment was also embossed in gold detail. I cut out some of the flowers from the DP to decorate the side.
I am sending this onto the Nielsen family. My life is so even and lovely compared to other families. The only supply I really need more of is stamps (the mailing ones!) and envelopes. I tend to make cards that require a 5 x 7 envelope and I have not found a place to get them yet. In the long run that really isn`t much to worry about is it.
Please go check out Donna`s site to read more about the Nielsen family.
Hugs
Heather

oh Heather! this is beautiful, thank you for sharing on your blog...just thinking of them brings tears to my eyes (I am no stranger to the deteriorating health of a parent - my mom died when I was 25 of congestive heart failure & lung cancer...it was a rough few years on us girls who were her caretakers but I wouldn't hesitate to care for a loved one again (and I am...DMIL) so my heart especially goes out to their 3 boys who seem like gems! btw, I sometimes mail in 6 x 9 envelopes you can get at the office supply, I bet they have 5 x 7 too! in fact that's the size I used to mail a card to Ylita, Fred & one for the boys today!
