I know that my absolutely favorite method of coloring is using watercolors and a paint brush so this is what I did last night. I embossed the image onto watercolor paper and then used Twinkling H2Os to color. For this first photo, I let the sun shine in the direction that let the gold embossing show. The colors appear lighter which shows the wonder of twinkling H2Os.
For this second picture, the sun was beamed onto the card and the gold embossing did not reflect so you actually see the colors much clearer. I only used a few colors to paint this. The skirt and flowers were done with Sapphire on Ice and Razzleberry. The different shades of color were from the amount of water used. For the top of the dress I also added Sweet Alfalfa. For the flesh is first used Golden Sand on the entire flesh section and then wash some Pink Cloud for highlights. The stems and buds are done with Sweet Alfalfa while the butterflies are done using Golden Sands and a bit of Autumn Butternut . The background of the image was painted with regular water color paints. I used white and blue phthalo and Payne`s grey. So as you can see, I only used 8 colors to create this image. I am amazed at the beauty you can create with watercolors. Give it a try...its not that hard.
This is the inside of the card. The base is Confetti White from the Paper Company. It is a lovely heavier paper which has a subtle color to it. I used the butterflies (Martha Stewart) to cover the joints of the ribbon.

I put a new link on my sidebar today to Craft Critique. This is a great site to find out about craft products. They review new tools, methods and site so it is an easy way to check out some things. I have found new ways to use old tools and have also created a wish list from some of the reviews. Click on the link and check it out.
I am so happy today. This card turned out so great. I am thinking of repeating these colors again and framing the image. I have had a great day. Took my son to work and then had my hair done which I love doing. I always feel wonderful after someone fiddles with my hair...its short so not much styling to do. Since I stopped trying to cover the silver its not only cheaper at the hairdressers it takes lots less time....more stamping time. DH comes home from Toronto tonight (2am) so at least he will see it before it gets totally messed up.
Not much else going on. Think I`ll try one of the new stamps I got from Kimmie yesterday. Talk later.
Hugs
Heather
