Howdy All

I was up early today....4am. All 4 puppies plus my own Yorkie decided they should either sleep with me or cry/scream through the night. I admit to spoiling them but really. 4 Yorkie pups on my chest, and a full grown one on my legs. It was fun for about 2 minutes and then it became more difficult. They all had to lick my face at the same time and boy was that a traffic jam. So, instead of waking everyone up, I climbed out of bed to take us all down to the family room. I decided to start a card...sooooo...

I made this card for Trina`s Timeless Treasures challenge. I had never put ink on this stamp so it was time. I used versafine onyxn black and prismacolored pencils to color in the image.

I wanted to use sage green and brown....I had this great paper and wanted to use it. I like the way it turned out. I used the largest of the rectangle nestabilities and used chocolate brown paper to scallop. When I saw the photo above I realized I had put too bid a white dot in the eyes so I have since added a bit of blue spica pen for her eyes to just sparkle.

I tried the 2 layer flowers first with a brad but it just didn`t do it for me so I went for the button. It`s different and I like it.

The bottom edge looked plain so I used crystal effects and microbeeds to create the line at the bottom.

I can use this card for many things...birthday, get well card, think of you.

Delight in Life

I made this card for the monochromatic challenge on SCS. I chose to use browns because there are so many shades. This is the second time I have made a brown rose and I think I am starting a trend...a brown rose looks really great. Imagine, chocolate and roses, how can it be anything but perfect.

I started this card using a creamy caramel base that I stamped the Magenta rose on. Of course, I used Prismacolors and OMS to color the rose. I am so pleased with all the shades you can create with brown...so much fun.

I had some scraps of a brown paper that I layered it on. My next layer uses the texture cube from Stampendous. If you don`t have one they are fantastic. You have 3 different designs that you use 3 different colors on to create a wonderful BG.

To finish it off I used buttons and ribbons. I am pleased with this card. Hope you like it too.

Well yesterday was the first day for the boys to head back to school. One in grade 12 and the other in grade 11. I find it hard to believe that my youngest is in grade 12. What a wonderful year he is going to have...I hope. Middle son missed a grade due to too many absences so he is only in grade 11. Here`s hopping he keeps it together in school.

Well I lose two of the pups to their new homes on Saturday so I`m off to play with them. Have a great one.

Black Magic Bouquet

Just a note...this is a round card photographed on black paper.
I made this card for yesterday`s challenge on SCS...Black Magic. To do this, you stamp in white and color in with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. It must be done on black paper. The hardest part for me was to find a stamp with enough open space to color in. I do love my detailed stamps. In order for the colors to pop, you have to make sure you don`t color the white stamp outline, so detail stamps are not useful. I used a SU stamp....Delight in Life.

I used masks to create this bouquet. I decided to do the flowers in fairly light colors...blue ,pink, purple. I used a green metallic pencil for the leaves. The center of each flower is green with crystal effects and microbeeds.

I used ribbon to tie it together.

Today everybody is back to school/work and I have my home back again....Yeah. Great to see them more in the summer but wow do they have social lives. Always on the go and sleep is the least important part of their lives. Now I can tell them to get to bed for school tomorrow. What a feeling of Power...hey give me a few kicks.

Must go ...laundry day and the puppies are calling. This is the last week they will be here so I have to enjoy them.

Sleigh Ride

I realize this is my second post today but everybody is out. My DH is yard sale hunting and I `hate`yard sales. All the boys are at work so Mom gets to play uninterrupted.

This is a folder card. I found the directions for it on Camilla's Blog found here:
http://cstoen.blogspot.com/ There you find the directions to go to another blog that has a challenge. Now it is not in English but I think you can follow along. It was great fun to make.
I used a new stamp from Sugar Nellie. Jingle Bells is great for Christmas cards. I used my Prismacolored Pencils and highlighted with Spica pens. For the card I used a snowflake stamp from SU called Snow Burst. I used versamark and Starburst embossing powder to create this sparkling background.

Another Christmas card. I really am putting a push on to get loads of them done. Still no one home so maybe I`ll get a card made in advance.

Brown Rose

I love this color combo. I am not sure the photo shows this clearly but it is a pink and brown creation I did for the August Parade on Verve Stamps. The info is found here http://vervevisual.blogspot.com/2008/08/august-project-parade-day-one.html . Unfortunately the project ends in a day so hurry up.

I hunted through my stash to find the perfect stamp for this project and I kept thinking how unique it would be to switch it around...instead of a pink rose how about a brown rose. I did this brown rose using all the brown pencils I had in my Prismacolored Pencils.
I was amazed at how many shades of brown there are. Sometimes all I changed was the pressure I colored with. I love it. To create a shadow effect, I outlined it with a Laurentien Studio marker color Sienna Brown. I found a pkg. of these alcohol markers at Staples Business Supply bargain bin and they work great. They aren`t Copics but they`ll do in a pinch.

I decorated the card with crystals and dots using my Glaze Sakura pen. They are really great. I purchased the pen at Carousel Stamps. I also used Walnut Stain and Frayed Burlap Distress inks to distress the edges.

I am very proud of this card. What do you think? Let me know.
