Flourishes Focus Challenge

Flourishes issued a challenge to use color and they chose a peacock feather as the color choice. I used their I Love Roses stamps to create this card.
I embossed the stamp with gold detail powder and loved how it turned out. I painted the rose using Twinkling H20s. I have never seen a rose this peacock color but I know I would love it. Next to purple this is my favorite color. I only wish you could see the way the colors shimmer...twinkling H20s are wonderful.
I used the curvy rectangle nestibilities on the two center labels and the long rectangle scalloped for the other DP rectangles. The papers are from Provo Craft and they are beautiful. The base is from Michaels and it did not photo well, in actual fact it is deeper in color. I don`t have a light box so that may be the problem. I also used the doodle nestibility and some metallic paper from DCWV to make the doodle found on the two corners on the front.
On the inside I used another coordinated paper and cut out circles of one of the patterns to
embellish it. I used the small single rose which I also painted with Twinkling H20s and used a gold gel pen to write in Love. The base card was the peacock color on one side and the green color on the other side. Makes for a surprise inside.
What a change in weather today. It is absolutely pouring rain right now. The weather people are predicting the temperature will drop again and this will turn into ice and then snow. I hate to think how horrible the roads will be if it turns cold. I just want everybody to come home. Guess I had better go get working on supper...its a Sunday casual style with toasted cheese and bacon open sandwiches. We had this often when I was growing up and the boys love it. Nice and casual and fun to make...just stick the bread in the oven on broil to toast one side, flip it over and add 1 slice of cheese and two cooked pieces of bacon. Serve by cutting in two diagonally. Teens love it.
Hugs
Heather
