Butterfly Flowers

I had such fun creating this card. I used punches, Twinkling H20s and Stamps Zia stamps and Flourishes stamps. I used the scalloped punch from SU to create the flowers. I trimmed the edges using a brush of Gold Dust H20 and a gold gel pen. Using Martha Stewart`s butterfly punch I created the opening into the inside panel. I also used the Martha Stewart flower punch on the top and bottom edges.

To create the flower stems I used the leaves stamps from I Love Roses from Flourishes and then hand painted the connecting stem.

To add a little stability to the front cover I added the two strips of the background paper and some butterflies. I repeated the use of the Martha Stewart punch on the sides of the inside image. The butterfly is actually a moth stamp from Stamp Zia. These stamps or made of deeply etched green rubber and make a beautifully detailed image. I stamped it using versamark and gold detail embossing powder. Since the rubber is unmounted I put two layers of craft foam under my paper when stamping to get the perfect stamped image. I used Twinkling H20s to paint this image and I am very pleased with it. I actually only used 3 different paints a Petal Pink, Garnet and Autumn Butternut. I love the way you can get so many different colors using only a few colors.
The Happy Birthday Swirl is from a Scrappy Kat sentiment stamp set I purchased at Michaels. I loved painting the image and wanted to create a card giving a peek into the inside and this is what I came up with. I love reading your comments so thanks to all who leave them and please stay in touch.
