Whiff of Joy Challenge

Whiff of Joy is having a Guest Designer call and this is my entry. I am very pleased with this card. I love the colors and the design. I would be very pleased to be a guest designer so I guess you have to apply to have this chance. I used my very favorite Willow with Lantern stamp from Whiff of Joy. I tried to make the berries and leaves appear different than hollies and berries.
I stamped the image using a mixture of black onyx and sepia versafine ink and then I painted the image using Twinkling H20s. I used Canson Watercolor paper to hold the image which allowed me to watercolor using a paintbrush. I am pleased with the final look. Here is a list of the colors I used:
  • I painted the complete dress with Key Line and then added depth with Sweet Alfalfa. To create a final contrast I used Autumn Butternut in select spots.
  • The bow is done with Rose Petal and Garnet.
  • The berries were done with Ginger Peach and the leaves were done with Sweet Alfalfa.
  • The flesh tone was created using Golden Sand and a touch of Rose Petal.

Using Twinkling H20s allows so many shades by the amount of water used.

I created the sentiment using versamark and gold detail embossing powder. The stamp is a Studio G stamp. I also used Martha Stewarts`flower punch on the DCWV Metallic Textured Gold paper. This same paper is used on all layered pieces.

To balance the top left corner I added a dragon fly brad in copper. The ribbon I used is from Micheals $ bin.

The inside shows the two DP I used from the Old Western Stack from DCWV. I used Michaels ribbon to cover the joint. I also included a smaller version of the Lady with the Latern WOJ stamp also painted with Twinkling H20s.

Well this certainly has been a long post with loads of photos. I hope you are still awake. Guess it is time to start creating a cleaner house so hopefully I will be back later with my next post.
Hugs
Heather
