Whale Cove

This is another one of my Impression Obsession stamps. I love this scene. It is so much like the Maritimes where I live...water, wooden bridges and lobster traps....all totally Maritime items.

I tried a new fold for me today. This time the fold is not in the middle. The front flap is only 11cm long while the back is 14cm long. The orange and brown diamonds are actually on the inside of the back flap. I like the way it turned out. Different is often great.

I used the remainder of the yellow cardstock from yesterday as the base and used chocolate brown and pumpkin pie to layer with. I stamped the image in versafine sepia and used both twinkling H20s and Prismacolored pencils to color. After it was all colored I taped Tea Bag Distress ink over the image to age it. I found this really help give it a weathered look.

The stamp had the American Flag on it but I colored it to give the appearance of the Canadian flag. I hope this does not offend the artist but Canadians do love our flag.

The bottom panel is a die cut from cuttlebug. I used a pencil to color the center diamonds a darker shade. I aged a piece of parchment paper for the inside and stamped the following sentiment:
Play in the warmth of the sun Dance in the light of the Moon.
I find this stamp is good for birthdays, get well cards, and thinking of you cards so it is a great one to use. The final accessory was the brads on the sides. I am going to send this in to Dutch Dare Weekly Challenge #16. The details are found here:
Today is colder so I got the turn the fireplace on to take off the chill. I love my wonderful fireplace. Getting warmer now so guess I can start stamping.
Gotta go. Talk later
Heather

Impression-Obsession is probably my most favorite place to shop online. I love your card and how you painted and penciled it. A really lovely card!
