The first step was making an extra large card front. I used a sketch from Kathrina`s Creative Place.
I thought this sketch would work well in a larger style plus I wanted to use the Angel with the Lantern from Whiff of Joy as the center image. I used the middle oval with the green and blue cutters from Making Memories to create the oval. I love that cutting system. I have used it for about 7 years. I only did scrapbooking until this past year and a half so much of my equipment is scrapbook gear. Works great for cards though.
I colored the image using Twinkling H2O paint. Fooled ya didn`t I; you were expecting Prismacolored pencils weren`t you.
I used Blue Ice on the skirt as a base and though it really doesn`t show too much on the photo I used Periwinkle to add depth to the skirt, the bow and bottom trim. The sleeves and top were done first in Golden Sand and then highlighted with Periwinkle. I really am disappointed that I can`t show the wonderful flow of colors but photos just don`t do twinkling H2Os. The hair and flesh and holly are done with Prismacolors...I didn`t want them to twinkle. The berries, lantern, necklace and hearts are done with gold and red spica pens. I love these pens. Things go from ordinary to fantasy with just a touch of these pens.
I used a hardcover journal I bought at the dollar store and covered it with an 8.5 x 11 piece of green/blue cardstock from Michaels. I used the wonderful exacto knife to cut around the hard cover. After I added the cardstock I embossed snowflakes on scrap paper from the cover. Once cut out I taped them on. The smaller snowflakes are embossed directly on the cover. I used the window punch from SU to hold my Christmas Visitors for the front.
